Italian Startups Meet Japan
The Italian Innovation Day this year will be co-hosted by the Embassy of Italy to Japan, JETRO (Japan External Trade Organization) and NTT Data (Open Innovation Forum 'Toyosu no minato kara'), bringing to you the best Italian startups right here in Tokyo on May 30, 2018.
There will be pitching, demonstrations and great talks.
New business opportunities are awaiting for both investors and innovation driven organizations seeking for partnerships.
Keynote speakers Emil Abirascid and Masaru Ikeda, two startup gurus who will tell us about the fast growing Italian ecosystem and highlight business chances.
Special guest speakers of this edition will be, in order of presentations: Yoshiaki Ishii of Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI), Katsuyoshi Nakajima of Massive R&D, and Shinichiro Isago of LINE Corporation.

Italian Innovation Day 2018
The third edition of the Italian Innovation Day had almost 200 attendees, of which around 15% were investors and financial institutions, and around 70% were big corporations and SMEs interested in international partnerships and investments.
Main fields were Artificial Intelligence and IoT applied to a great variety of verticals, from the medical and healthcare sector to agritech, food delivery, security and drones. Other fields were AR/VR applied to design and security and entertainment .
More than 60 one-on-one meetings were organized during the event and in the following days.
Italian Startup Ecosystem
8,391 is the total number of innovative startups in Italy, 24% up from 2016.
Main sectors are services to enterprises (softwares and IT consulting, R&D services, information services), industrial manufacture (computers, electronics and opticals, machinery, electric equipment), and commerce.
